I was wondering if anyone knew what

"Jai guru da va om" meant? It is a lyric from the great Beatles tune, Across the Universe, and I cannot find out its translation. I used to listen to the Let It Be album a great deal a long time ago and just assumed it meant (in another language) "Nothing is going to change my world", the following lyric in the song. Perhaps john lennon made it up?

thanks for any help,
