OFF TOPIC -- BROKERS

I once had a broker who 'went her own way' and cost me a bundle by the time I woke up. If she'd stuck with the stuff her firm was pushing, I may not have done well, but I would not have done terribly either.
Better luck next time, FD.

Good post.

Accurate as hell, met a two year broker now working at Circuit City did not understand what 50% margin was. I wonder where his clients are working today.

I HOPE EVERYONE SAW 89518 FROM WILLIAM B. <SELLING TO IDIOTS> William, I also worked at your firm, and dean witter, in sales in san francisco. Also at the "trust" (god forbid) department of Wells Fargo. At MER my desk was directly behind the lunch buddy of the then branch manager, Merril Lynch MaGowan. (Safeway family) Actually he hired me. To my right was the MER institutional sales, and the head options trader, for institutions---so you can imagine the conversations I heard. Earlier, I had been hired by Ross Perot, and trained at his recently purchased stock brokerage (Dupont Glore Forgan). I can therefore relate very much to the immediate circumstances of your departure from MER, as well as to how these circumstances would lead you to focus on Dell. One developes a very permanent and very healthy anger, from exposure to environments like these. Just the relatively high ethics of Dell makes focusing on Dell, very important "work". In fact, I am sure this is the main reason why you do still "work". I am printing out your post, to put next to the other one.
