Well, I for one wasn't offended! OTC:BB stocks are verrrrrrry risky, but I know some smart people who trade them. Solon, our fellow thread member, would be a good resource if you're interested. Just promise me you'll play a limited amount of your capital if you do. OK?

Snerd: OTC Stocks:

I have a lot of experience with OTCs. The cool thing about OTCs is that a stock that goes from two-cents to a dime in a week is no different in performance than a NAS stock that goes from $20/share to $100/share in a week (and wouldn't that make news!).

So good plays can be found and, overall, I'd say there's no need to avoid them in full. The downsides can be that, from what I read, instutional buying does not come into OTCs as a general rule. Also, volume can be light on some OTC stocks, regardless of the price going up. Finally, some of the spreads can be murder.

One more final word of advice I'd like to offer: Unless you are super sure about the company, avoid OTCs that are not fully reporting (i.e., no 10Qs). The "hidden" surprises that may eventually come out of the closet are ones you might not like.

Cheers,
Chris

Snerd: I peronally have nothing against any quality information regardless where or how the issue trades. Good information doesn't care about the issue behind it. I can guarantee you that there are great companies right now waiting to be discovered. There are also many scams waiting to take the money of the easy prey.

There have been a few penny issues here that have done well and there will be more (i.e. SIS.V). But we must see the issue for what it is.

I would like to concentrate on quality issues, but the occasional penny or BB news item certainly adds variety.
