When I was in Vancouver recently the paper was full of warnings for Canadians about the deluge of the Russian Mafia into Canada's banking system...that the Mounties were terrified of them because they tend to show up as computer-savvy and very rich criminals who were using the banks as money-laundering operations....the article stated that the mounties found them in 70% of the two hundred banks....
Why don't we hear about it in the U.S. press???????

Jim, that is the best short analysis of derivatives I have heard, esp. the part about J. Rogers "of Roger's Holdings" and cronies. I really am beginning to fear for his (J. Rogers) judgement. Have you seen the rig he is frolicking around the world in these days? He is a two ton, lemon yellow symbol of American imperialism, nothing but a bulls' eye to many he is going to encounter. Funny how the high rollers love their hot air balloons, harleys and taking their secretaries off on thrillseeking expeditions. It all boils down to a tolerance for risk vs. a taste for risk. These guys eat it for breakfast and tell themselves it's good. (go to www.jimrogers.com if you wonder what I'm talking about and tell me--don't you bet he's got the windows bulletproofed?)

... Jimmy Rogers ... him and his cronies omit that derivatives are the systems way of inflating their own form of money faster than Governments can, and capturing the spread...

Wow, am I confused here! I have found Jim Rogers to one of the few who talks publicly about the dangers of the out of control derivatives market.
