The price action has been dismal this week, but so has the Gold market complex which may have something to do with it.
Barrick has always been tight lipped about results, so I have to doubt that any reliable info is out.
Lets hope for a healthier Gold market, and the (good) results from QTR will hopefully follow.

Re: That 130K shares offerred at .40, somehow that does not look above board. If someone wants to unload a larger position, they would do it in bits in this type of market. It smells to me that someone wanted to cap this price.......

..... Waiting for Barrick

I'm in about the same boat as you, Andy. Like you I sold immediately after Newcrest results were announced with the intention of going back in. Also like you, I'm troubled by the latest sell-off. Someone indeed may be in the know.

I suspect charred is right when he says if Guinoloza was any good, the news would have been leaked or released on a hole by hole basis to prop up Alamos stock. Oddly though, AAS has not suffered and was actually up on Friday. However, they have other properties and interests some of which look rather interesting right now so perhaps a possible zero at Guinoloza is already in their price.

Considering that Barrick continues at Uchcumachay, there is still more drilling planned for Guinoloza and Newcrest's work is apparently not a complete write-off, Queenstake may be getting oversold. I suspect it is probably a better buy now considering the risk/reward potential than at any time in the last two months.

Put another way, I certainly don't see the fat lady yet.
