An Oppenheimer analyst spoke on CNBC the other day after coming back from a visit to Brazil. He says the country is a financial basket case. The Congress down there is more concerned about Carnival time than about directing their efforts into putting discipline into their budgets. Their currency is paper garbage right now. Hopefully, the US Treasury will give them an immediate wake up call. Third world countries - don't you just love them. If this spreads to Mexico and I hope it doesn't, all bets are off for the capital markets in the short term. We will get a violent reaction to the downside. That 110 point down opening on NASDAQ last week was a warning call. Hope Rubin can put up firewalls. He should be getting paid double for the overtime he is putting in.
