If you look at US currency (mostly $100's some $50's) you will sometimes see rebber stamp marks on them. Those are notes that merchants or banks have "looked" at or "inspected" and determined are not counterfiet. Most of them are from the orient where there are apparently a lot of counterfieting problems. Those little marks are the equivilent to the chop marks that they stamped on U.S. Trade (silver) Dollars back in the 1870's.
