Chuzzlewit,

Thank you. I've been in Dell for a long time, but I only started with a couple of hundred shares. I've added regularly over the years, of course...

The potential issues you mention are all on my mind. Because I'm not privy to the exact way Dell structures its overseas subsidiaries, I don't know how much weight to assign to any of these things. Further, it seems like the relatively poor health of Brazil's economy *must* affect the rest of SA. As you point out, the issues might not be that significant as they affect day-to-day operations. But Dell has targeted SA and Brazil in particular as a growth area, so it is a gnawing concern even if the effect of the Brazilian economy on the US at large is small.

I am saving at least a few of my sighs of relief for the denouement of this saga.

How to circumvent-------->

Paul:

One way to circumvent the 'real' depreciation is to export the hell out of Dell computers from Brazil back to the U.S,hey it could happen,they are not all that far you know.

Right now all the PCs are being made in the U.S for the North American and Latam markets,so Brazil could easily act as an alternate source or even a secondary source complementing the North American operations.Just a thought.

Well,gotta go,seeya.
