Ish, you made me think of a story when you mentioned your wife.

I took my wife to fish in a His & Hers Tournament on Wappapella in MO. Three other couples joined us. Fifty couples entered the tournament. We arrived late Friday Night. When we checked in at Chaonia I asked the owner where one might catch a fish in the tournament and he said Devil's Point. So I got out the Topo and marked the spot (no bridges in this one).

The next morning the winds were 25 mph +, but I have a Cat so not to worry. My wife and I headed to Devil's Point. Upon arrival I had to keep the trolling motor on max to keep from being blown into the bank.
We were throwing spots because of huge amounts of small threadfin shad. Anyway by 11:00 I had run out of juice and we had 4 keeper's.
Had to start the big motor and drift to the bank to keep fishing. I caught one more about 3 lbs giving us 5 total. Told her that we might place if we just caught one more quality fish. She got one about 12.5 inches long.

We were standing in the weigh in line and I could see all the other bags of fish, still thinking we might place. The announcer said we took the lead by 1/10 of a pound, still 10 behind me to weigh in. I said that will never hold and proceeded down to the boat to get me a beer.

When I returned it was announced that we won first place. My wife had not fished with me in six years and has not fished with me since. We received 2 plaques and $400 dollars. I got one plaque and she took all the money.

Love that Fishing...
Looking at the Plaque now.

Keith

Can't beat a walleye though....even big perch..yummm.
Bass....not my bag...that's the southern thing....
I think I will buy a new fish locator this year...last year was terrible with the low water levels.
Don't want to spend any money in Canada.....
