[NOTE: I've contacted the SI staff about fixing the header links. I tested each one of 'em about a dozen times to assure they worked, and they did. I don't know what happened subsequently. The problem I think has to do with the Internet.com search mechanism, and will be fixed soon.
Regarding Jon Tara:
When I established the new thread I thought it was appropriate to also inform Jon about it. This is an excerpt from my communication to him on the matter:
"Because virtually everyone was complaining about Matty's "Evil Dead" infatuation, I started up a new thread called: ZuluGroup.com -- Internet Ecommerce & Advertising.
Subject 24949
To test it, I began the first post. So as not to violate our agreement, all I wrote was: "I'm long." The header of the thread is mostly a description of the company together with hyperlinks from both the company and news releases--nothing editorial. Feel welcome to visit, although there's not much there right now, and since I can't post, I won't be firing it up--what'll happen there will simply be what'll happen there."
Unfortunately, he has chose to misinterpret what was, in itself, an innocent action in no way intended to violate our moratorium. For him to interpret this any other way is, well, a stretch. A very technical stretch, if you will.
In conclusion, were I intending to violate the moratorium, I first would have jumped on with certainty to blast HIGHPLANESDRIFTER for his extremely insensitive remarks regarding ZuluIslandTime? His comments in his post to Aleta were one the worst examples of writing ever to grace--or disgrace--the annals of Silicon Investor. ZuluIslandTime recommended to me that I not break the moratorium, and she should be so credited--'cause I was ready to pounce!
The facts of the record clearly show that Drifter first insulted her, causing her to respond to him rather heavily. Obviously, judging from his wretched SI post to Aleta, he couldn't take the hit and it appears ZuluIslandTime's response has lingered within his consciousness stream to this very day. Get over it, Drifter!!! Either apologize to her, or at least get your comments over to Yahoo where she can respond to you (she is not an SI member).
In conclusion, I created the new thread--upon the urging of others--with non-editorial language and it provides an accurate historical accounting of the company. The language relative to Three-Speed and Sesame comes from the SEC filings. If the company thought it was important enough to present to the SEC, then obviously it is important to us?
The very first post on the new thread, to see if it worked was simply to say, "I'm long," hardly an intimidating comment by any means. And I did this only after wlcnyc, who I asked to place the first post, declined. Fact is, I wanted to see if it worked. And it's a fact, were I intent on breaking the moratorium, I would have, and could have, editorialized quite freely. I didn't.
Jon, I'm not going to say you were wrong to accuse me of breaking the "gentleman's agreement," because I suppose on a technicality you are correct. But in the spirit of that "gentleman's agreement," particularly since I notified you of my actions, you are most incorrect.
In conclusion, I'm willing to continue with the moratorium and, in fact, will call for its renewal tomorrow at noon. I think it's been healthy for the thread and I'm willing to give it another week, with the possibility of another renewal.
My apologies to others for unwittingly causing a disruption. I thought I provided a fair view of the company in the header, based on the record, and did not think, by doing this, I broke the moratorium.
