As I indicated earlier, I agree with that statement of yours. In order to move on and evaluate those advantages and disadvantage, we need to define the "competition." I believe the competition is other on-line malls, shopping sites, etc., not our personal preferences or off line merchants.

We are not creating a new "market" - it is already there - and e-commerce is quite lucrative. Therefore, in my opinion, the "barriers to entry" are somewhat irrelevant. What is relevant, and of primary importance are the advantages of one site over another to the internet consumer. Most consumers don't care if the site is easy or difficult to create or duplicate. Secondarily, what it takes, technically, to provide those advantages is important, but mostly to the bottom line.

So, once again, I say we need to make objective comparisons between the BFL experience and other "shopping web sites."
