Okay, remember the copper being processed by our mine in the spring of '96? Copper has dropped 50% in value from its peak and is down a good third from when NPEC first reported making progress with mining copper. Who can take that kind of cut in return and remain profitable? Nix copper.

The silver mine in Washington State is probably a great long term hold. Should silver hit $9 or $10 an oz you'll see movement to start up--probably a two year project. But until then nix silver because Washington State is not a mining friendly environment.

The oil in Ecuador is in court. Apparently we signed on for 15% of an oil field, got it pared down to 10% following some dispute and after awhile, when our partners realized we were just some two-bit outfit, they took it all. I'm not sure if NPEC missed some sort of a payment or what but what was said to have been 5¢ a share worth of oil was gone. Recent rumblings indicate NPEC will now be reimbursed for losing the field with comparable properties after courts sided with them. Would be great to see and might be one of the coming releases. We'll see. I believe losing the oil is initially what sent NPEC down from .15 to under .10. Current oil prices suck anyway.

MDIN? As far as I know we own 14+ million shares and 20% of the Andacolla. There has been other talk here but we still got our cut coming there as far as I understand it. Remember, gold fell by 1/3 since we started with it. This fall in gold easily translates into a 1/3 drop in the value of the stock. Should gold go back to $390 you don't think this stock would be back to .15 or higher? Give me another story.

Metroplus? Thats what's paying the bills and will be the reason this stock survives at all the depression in the mining sector. Give our management credit for letting it expand.

Dome oil field in Utah? That one we gave up in exchange for the new owners taking care of some clean-up costs or something. Somebody correct me if I'm way off on that one. It wasn't much of a property anyway.

Brazil? If gold hits $390 this one will possibly explode the stock. And who knows what the value of the extraction process they've come up with.

All-in-all the management has done well to survive this 2-year plunge in commodity prices. Anyone else care to brag they could make it on a 40% pay cut?

Still holding here. I haven't picked up more because I bottom fished another mining stock in November and December. I'm ready for a breakout in metals. Hope it happens by summer, though I do see a possibility for a little weakness in metals bfore St. Valentine's Day. --Al
