He's been selling umbrellas in a rainstorm. Most tactics work under those conditions. And 3-Com, Cabletron, Synoptics (should I go on?) have drowned in that rainstorm. Chambers was at the helm when CSCO began its ascent in what was then a very competitive environment. I think he deserves more credit than you give. And if CSCO continues to hew to the Active Directory strategy and doesn't embrace NDS, they are going to become an island in a sea of NDS enabled equipment sharing a common directory structure and services from the core to the edge. Long on NOVL, huh? <g> You points about CIEN rumors ARE interesting. Thanks for your (and Mr. Fun) insight into the LU sales force. It will be interesting to see the LU/INTC battle.
