El: I don't know how much stock there is on the shelf available for issue. My impressions is that for a split to occur the BoD will have to seek approval to re-stock the share larder. I would assume that that will happen fairly soon. The speculation about the split should intensify as the stock approaches $75 ( which I have playfully decided will be 11th August, 1999). As it approaches or surpasses $100 (between November, 1999 and January 2000) the decision will be made, probably at the time of earnings in January, 2000. Although EP has said he likes to see the stock about $35 (which might imply a 2 for 1 split) perhaps the growth of the AV-Internet component by then, and perhaps the achieving or imminence of the $50 billion revenues target, will change his mind and he will consider a price range between $70 and $120 more appropriate for a company rivalling IBM or AOL.
