[ot]Thanks Frank, there are 2 main conversion strategies from what I understand: dual protocol stacks and tunneling. I think the 6BONE (an experimental global IPv6 network where just the backbone is IPv6) is using the tunneling approach. It seems though, until it becomes a "must do," band-aids like DHCP are a less painful way to clean up the frayed edges sufficiently. Base legacy technologies have a funny way of hanging around far longer than anyone expected because of the creative band-aid approach. dh
