al,

The safety profile of Viagra although poor will not be enough to get it pulled off the pharmacy shelves. The only thing that will get Viagra pulled or severely restrict its use is going to be voluntary restrictions by Pfizer when they realize that liabilities will outweigh profits without more prudent labeling.

The governments of other countries realize that if they deny approval of Viagra it will become a black market drug which will deny the government taxable income and become another lucrative drug for the pushers. Viagra availability will never be halted. The respective governments can only hope to regulate and control its sale and distribution.

I believe that eventually Viagra will lose its "magic" and be viewed as just another chemical in the PDR. Ultimately the individual physician will be the one who decides just how safe Viagra really is. Some won't care if a few patients might have coronaries but as the wheels of justice of our legal system continue their slow turn, they will eventually realize that they must be careful as to who gets Viagra and who instead needs to have their cardiac status assessed.
