Chinmoy,
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - American giant Amazon.com victory in a multibillion dollar market cap race of internet stocks announced
a new business plan at the internet conference.
This plan completes the biggest cross-retail marketing effort in history and creates a global marketing giant. Attendees at the conference were shocked to learn that Amazon will no longer sell books
on the internet at their popular web site, Amazon.com. The new focus is to sell stock, their own stock. The success of their stock and the failure of their book business brought this exciting change to the stockholders of Amazon.
Other players like MarketWatch.com (NASDAQ/MKTW - news) are already looking at the Amazon model following their own successful IPO on Friday. An unidentified Amazon spokesperson was overheard at the conference as saying "we'll kick their cyber butts"
Wall Street mavens are studying the plan and preparing a statement.
Jim Cramer of The Street.com issued an upgrade to "Strong Buy" "Amazon.com has shown the way to the ultimate stock promotion scheme and we wish them success."
CNBC corespondent Maria Bartaromo had this to say, "what's going to happen to the poor reader? Will they have to visit a bookstore now?"
Fed chairman Greenspan will release a prepared statement later today.
NYSE Chairman Grasso noted "If AMZN is ready to move up to the big board, we are ready".
