Peter teaches us to buy what we know, hang out at the mall
and count the traffic in parking lots. The high tech sector has eluded the Lynch followers
because Pete says if you don't understand it, don't buy it. Investors buy a computer to
follow their Lynch/retail/Beardstown ladies stocks and discover AOL. They also discover
online brokers that charge $9.95 instead of $199.95. AOL is a company that they know

Cos,

I got lost due to the change in trading habits. I believe Lynch was focused on fundamental trading which is not what drives this market anymore. Sponge recently commented about how poorly mutual funds were doing and that they had a staff of people to do research. Sponge is correct that the mutual funds are not doing that well. They research fundamentals and AMZN has shown me that fundamentals no longer matter. Just momentum. AOL, being a more mature company, reacts abit to both in my opinion. The fundalmentals for AOL are good although the market cap may be high at present. With that said, I was a fundamental investor and have given that up as of last Friday<G>
