Yes, it happens with me most of the time....

I often feel uneasy when something bad is about to unfold. It may or may not help me avoid the mishap, but it certainly prepares me in accepting the consequences of that mishap. Sometimes it feels eerie...

Or when I can take a look at a friend my husband brings home and I know in my heart the person is trouble simply by shaking hands. Or conversely, I look at all the people in a crowd and choose a friend for life. It has happened so consistently that it has become an official barometer in our family. Yet, I cannot find any rational basis to explain the phenomenon.

When I say we develop I instincts by using them regularly, what I mean is if I choose to ignore them, they will not matter. That is why I found The Celestine Prophecy very inspirational in some ways. You have to experience some things to believe them.
