Well now if these MM's did their jobs like they were supposed to by making money on the spreads and not by trading against the retail customers, they woudnt be in so much trouble. They sure dont provide the liquidity. And now they cant even handle the trades. As if anyone is even going to notice the MM's leaving in droves. So the brokers increase margins, I dont think it will hurt the stocks any more than it does now. And it is not the the individuals who need margins to short as most are very small time shorts. So not sure what they are saying here other than the big boys are not going to play anymore.
