William B.<the true quality of it is priceless> I do not have the time right now to read the volume of recent posts, which may have caused you to consider leaving. But the same persons would probably ridicule(?) me, I am sure. There is a war going on. It is a war of ethics. Those of us with money, are the most important people to try to understand your anger. I am guessing of course, but I am sure Voltaire more than understands your anger. As for myself, I have seen so much white collar crime in the financial community of san francisco, that my anger is solidly in place. If I were to name names, I would probably still be chased for some kine of slander. I have three blood chilling stories which involve the board of the bank of america, the board of dean witter, and the executive office of one of the three dominant companies in hawaii----all of which would make some here think that I am, in some sick way, seeking publicity, or trying to take care of some eqo problem. All I can say, is that those who have guts, or nerve, or anger----should be very carefully treated. Do not assume there is something wrong, or weird, or socially unacceptable about them. When such persons become aggressive investors, pay one hell of alot of appention to what they are doing. Dean Witter, for example, had me selling tax shelters based on railroad tank cars, which did not even exist; I helped put the deal maker in federal prison. Enough. William B. if you do leave, would you please give me some way to keep in touch. Mine is po box 2879 alameda ca 94501, if nothing else works.

Yes, William. Please stay.
It nearly impossible to write any post here (in such small space
available) that does not get misinterpreted in some way.
If I were only to write the word :"Rambus", and nothing else,
some would say I was either for or against the company.
My favorite saying from a poem goes "If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, yet make allowance for their doubting too"( And you know the rest of it, and the result of applying it)
Your experience, so kindly shared with us, while surrounded by
doubters in those brokers offices, shows the good things that can happen if one has the guts to make ones own decisions, step out and leave the crowd so to speak.
Here are two year returns (1997 to present) of the first ten stocks from a book called "100 Best Stocks You Can Buy" written in 1997
So, representing the crowd we have the following:
1. Abt +66
2. Apd +6
3. Acv -9
4. Abs +74
5. AA +21
6. Ald +16
7. Amb -10
8. AWK +35
9. Ahp +68
10, Ait +99
This list was prepared by a VERY experienced broker (since 1960) and I think he would rather not take credit for it! And explains why lawyers seldom write down their own words
Because during those two years Dell was a plus 789%
Regards
Sig

<--OT-->

Bill,

Some people just don't like successful people. I think he objects to you driving your Ferrari Maranello in Compton. IMO, "overnight" successful entrepreneurs like you should be written up in IBD.

"Everyone likes to buy from Experts" and I think that is how you acquired your rewards. I pay lots every month for experts' advice; it is rare when a benevolent soul parts with it here free!

Thanks for your contribution
