settle down, stiltzy...rumors and info like was posted on margins is put here as an alert, and designed to make us think, and ask more questions. suggesting tmex would do this to enhance a short position is beyond ludicrous...thats like suggesting we all buy books on amazon.com today to drive up the price....get real

Why don't you do some research before you shoot your mouth off? It is NOT a rumor and several online brokerage as well as traditional brokerage house ALREADY changed the margin requirements. Read the news on Schwab. They are implementing the margin requirement change. Datek si ALREADY making many of Internet stocks non-marginable (specially the small cap stocks). I see you are a beginner and can probably understand your position if you have a large position on some internet stocks but that doesn't give you reason to be hostile. We are all adults here (at least most of us)...
