Clarifications,(and thanks Hal): Just so there is no misunderstanding about my sources of information: 1) DOD/NASA - "Sword to plowshares" is a common investment theme that is widely covered by the press. Red Chip Review is one publication that comes to mind. The reference to the use of Ampex DCRSi in data acquisition systems that use the most advanced sensors in the world is a pure guess derived from previous use of the DCRsi in the U2, SR71 Blackbird, the Lockheed RECCE pods, the ICS sub programs (http://www.ics-ltd.com), among others. The running argument between the Department of Defense and the Commerce Department over the migration of technology to the public sector is a matter of public record. I have had no special knowledge or sources in this area. Just pure guesswork and a diligent reading of the trade newspapers. 2) Disk drives - Again, I received a few materials from the Ampex roadshows that basically detailed how Ampex was planning to use KM to extend the life of TFI. Nothing else beside that. As most of you know, some of us worked the supply chain in an attempt to not only get clues as to KM's progress but also to develop new investing ideas. The legal tiff in 1996, for example, between Maxtor and Stormedia was a useful clue to the developing overcapacity in the platter industry. Again, I have had no special knowledge or sources in this area. Just pure guesswork and a diligent read of the trade magazines. I apologize for any misperceptions any of my vague statements may have caused. If you feel that I need to clarify any other statements, please feel free to message me publicly or privately so I can correct any misimpressions. Lastly, as of last week, I no longer hold a position in Ampex although I do think it still has an interesting risk and reward proposition. In the end, it came down to the amount of information I want to digest over the next two years. A high risk, high rewards stock like AXC requires more attention that I can budget at this point. America is a great country. As a new citizen of this country I want to contribute in a small way towards building this country. That requires time. And the time otherwise spent on these message boards might be put to better use in that endeavor. I genuinely wish all of you the best and I hope you don't mind if I drop by from time to time to join in the discussion which continues to be very educational. Gus
