Both great fool and great smart theory. Statiscally, you may win 50% and lost 50% on short term tradings, since no one can really time the market. So , your chance of win on short term tradings will be "0" in the long run if you trade too frequently.
So I only do short term trading once in a while when the stock either drops or goes up significantly. Otherwise, I just let my long term holdings to continue appreciate with the trend, and also save a lot of tax by selling and buying from time to time.
