lkj,

I was disappointed when I read the news release from CREAF, but I have no doubt that there are design-ins to be announced. Suspect that Sony and Sharp and Panasonic and Philips and Grundig and Bang & Olufsen, etc... are going to have an mp3 solution. You may even see a Realistic model from Radio Shack. SmartMedia could easily be abandoned in future generations of mp3 players. The fact that both DIMD and CREAF have chosen alternative storage is upsetting, but the jury isn't out yet.

In any case, let's wait for further news. I think asking about potential partnerships for MMC w/r/t mp3 would be a fair question for investor relations.

lkj -

Your summary especially re MP3 right on.

Sony doesn't scare SNDK very much however becasue this time its not just about making things smaller and better looking its about primary IPR.

Sooner or later Sony will get desperate about its music and player business.

This year should be very interesting as we see now the music business converging toward computers as well.

L
