I wellcome ASND/LU combo. I think LU has made an important step
towards the datacom market. As pointed out by you and a lots others,
this merger has not been perfect because both ASND and LU do not have
Layer three routers to form IP network.

The recent development IP networks in the several ISP network are
very well under way. Given CSCO has so many installed base in this
space which forces every new comers into this space has to compatible
with CSCO router, I think LU still lack of IP products.

Both LU and ASND have developed IP router in the past, LU's Packet-
star and ASND's GSR have not shown they made any progress in the IP
market. I would agree LU/ASND has a strong position in ATM/Frame Relay
in carrier's market. But come down to IP carrier market, they have
nothing to show for it, where in fact is faster growing market than
any of other datacom market.

Please comment on it!
Cheers!
