C1,

There's no date on the StockSmart portfolio I posted. One more data point is from the Franklin site, where they give the holdings as of 8/31:

Inhale Therapeutics 5.00
Aviron 5.00
Chiron Corp. 4.10
Chiroscience Group PLC 4.10
Gilead Sciences 3.80
Medicis Pharmaceutical Corp. 3.80
Transgene SA 3.60
Amgen Inc. 3.50
Zonagen 3.50
Sangstat Medical Corp. 3.20

If we give these data points to the people that analyze historical DNA sequences, I'm sure they could tell us which is the latest. I'm guessing the StockSmart one I posted is, which would mean they bought a boatload of PGNS.

The Prudent Bear fund hasn't updated its biggest short holdings, muttering something about people taking advantage of known big short positions. So don't know if CNTO is still their biggest short position. They've been creamed since October, dropping by half.
The bear attacks on the biotechs in fact seem to have ceased, but they may just be in hibernation for the winter. <G>
