Adam,
You sold out of the stock with a loss and now you are finding
every bit of information you can to spell the doom of CREAF.
Sounds like sour grapes to me, but if you are sleeping better
now good for you.

It is true that maybe on board codecs will be available mid
year but the jury is still out if the Intel chips will have the
sound working in their new chips. Lots of rumors flying around on
that. Second will Microsoft software be ready to support the Intel
chip? Another if. Third in that quote you posted is said "yet high
quality". Wrong, at best it will be low end business audio.
Intels has made several attempts at integrating other functions
such as graphics, audio and modem into their chips without success.
I will agree that this audio is coming, will be cheap but you get
what you pay for. So far the audio, graphics and modem companies
have developed advanced products to stay ahead of the game.

Creative now is much more that an audio company(see a post earlier
today that said CREAF had a graphics win). I tell you what,
stay on the thread for the next 6 months and see were this stock is.
I think it will be going up if the market and the world economy
do not bring it down.

Alright guys, here's someone who abandoned ship who needs some tech support with my SBLive. For some reason, I no longer get any sound out of the system. I've never been able to get the microphone to work. Speakers are plugged in, powered. All sources of input are enabled (not muted). Volume is near max. NO SOUND.

Any suggestions? (W95)

POSTSCRIPT: Got them running again.... THANKS. Too embarrassed to explain how! <GGG>

Well you aren't the first to write the obituary of this company, nor will you likely be the last. But I would have to add that neither you nor I can really know what CREAF has in the pipeline to move forward with their product lines. Undoubtably they have as much information about the future as anyone and are planning accordingly. Like many here, I see them diversifying and moving away from so much dependence on audio. But I don't see these new chipsets threatening 3D audio, so I think they still have a good revenue stream there for some time.

But again, it comes back to the same thing, communication. Because they keep everything a big secret and don't give anyone an idea of how they will survive and grow, the prevailing assumption is that they won't. They NEED to change that policy which continually feeds that perception.

I wish to God I had the where-with-all to make an offer on this company. You can bet your behind I'd have that offer out tomorrow. I'd give Mr. Sim a real fight to keep his little empire and he'd have to come out in public and say what he really thought it was worth and how he was going to get it there.
