There are very expensive services that rate all IPO's and give an "indication" on the stregth of the deal... They talk to the syndicate desks to guage demand both institutionally and retail. They can then telll how tight a deal is going to be. Let's say they show a deal up a point..... THis is very valuable info to the pros who play this game.... You may not know this, but there is a whole sub culture of traders that only play IPO's ... they have vast broker networks to get them stock all over the street... they all subscribe to these services... they try to play only the good deals, but if ytour brokers got you a good deal, he will come back to you and want you to talke stock in a bad deal ... happens all the time..... The deal prices I think Thursday night for Friday... This IS the deal of the week, will for sure trade to a premium, Looks like at least 5 as of this time... that number will change as we get closer to pricing..... After this deal, Rowecom by JP Morgan, Interware by CS Boston... Goldman has a couple internet deals also..... to see whats comming, use yahoo and type IPO on the search ...look at the many services.... Not all are good, but you will see whats upcomming...

Cs First Boston recently recruited the TOP team from Duetch Bank... The last deal they did was Carrier Access... priced at 12 a few months ago, now at 34. This group beat out ALL the MAJORS (you name them, they beat them) for the Carrier deal... Want to know why they were chosen... "CS's group had the best knowledge of what we do and what we need"..... Look for CS First Boston to bring quality tech deals going forward..... Strong reputation on the street.....
