>>>Yes I do I love to hear success stories -If you or anyone have one by gosh lets hear it!Why listen to beginners and lightweights. If you can separate the wheat from the chaff.Ipersonally would rather read about the Forbes 400 than the roster of the homeless at the John 316 mission.<<< Sir William... I have to say that I agree with you as long as one relates his successes with tact and class... From what I've read I put you in this category, along with Kemble, Mohan, Voltaire, Gregory,Sig and a few others that serve to make this thread the most interesting and worthwhile that I've found within SI... I invest in stocks to make money and my goal is to one day achieve the kind of financial security you describe and the freedom it buys... I don't mind one bit hearing about your well earned success.... Sadly I fall in the "beginner" category you mentioned in your post... I've been investing for 3 1/2 years... My gains have been in the 30% range but the total amount gained in dollar terms is only around $90,000 (I started with almost nothing)... I've made a lot of mistakes... I actually sold 500 shares of DELL a few months ago (have since bought 200 back)... Obviously I wish I had started buying DELL 3 1/2 years ago and had kept buying only DELL... I'm rambling sorry... I guess what I would like to know is do you think one should do as Kemble suggests or at least seems to... and put everything in DELL? (Kemble please feel free to respond too)Looking at DELL's performance the last 8 years it would be hard to argue with this strategy... A rough estimate tells me that if I had followed this strategy the last 3 1/2 yr.s my $90,000 gain would be close to $350,000... I know it all depends on one's risk tolerance (mine is high)existing debts (mine are zero) and good DD... I believe in DELL and think it has an explosive future ahead... So my question is... would any of you liquidate a $100,000 portfolio consisting of DELL, AOL, FDX, NOBE,IOM,ARTT and Cash and buy 1250 shares of DELL? Thanks... BBG
