Thanks Spots. Now I'm confused--the only protocol I have running is TCP/IP, so I'm not sure how NETBUI would enter the picture. "The key to simple success remains in being sure you're logged on to all three with the same user name and same password." I only have the Adminstrator account on all 3 machines, with the same password on all of them also. This should cover me, no? I am indeed in a workgroup, called WORKGROUP, not a domain ala NT network properties. I already tried the switching in and out of the group, to no avail. Darn, this is puzzling and frustrating. I thought I was home free after the systems assembled so nicely. What I thought would be a 20 hour job seemed only a 6 hour job, but is now above 20 without a resolution, and I still have the fried floppy drive problem (more on that in a seperate post.) I need to work now on keeping my sense of humor! I had lots of other stuff to do this weekend. :( Thanks again, Dave
