Then again, I gather ZP is not working with NT.

Win 95. Neither the AMI bios in this 'old' machine nor the Abit Award bios properly recognized the drive. The AMI bios let me type in the cylinders and sectors..the Award bios did not..I could scroll through a bunch of user options but I could not get to the number of cylinders I need. The Maxtor literature indicated sometimes Award divides the cylinders and multiplies the sectors by the same number..it indicated it will not affect the size.

The drive is seen as 17 gig on the POST screen. When I try to format it in Partition Magic it will only let me go to 8.4 gig.

Do I want LARGE or LBA in the bios settings? Autodetect comes up LBA.

I tried cloning my Win98 installation located on one of my SCSI drives to the Maxtor 17.2. The 17.2 Maxtor IDE drive would not even boot...it was not a system disk. I am guessing SCSI disks have a different kind of boot record ??

Ok, didn't realize it was for the drive itself. I have the
hotfix but haven't applied it yet, not having a drive larger
than 8.4 at the moment.

Yes, it's supposed to be in service pack 4.
