Hi Jeff,

your analogy is absolutely correct. Of course the John Q Public not going to put $2000 on the table for a P111 RDRAM computer. But then John Q Pubic has not been the guy buying 400Mhz PII's either. Intel is not King of the low-end desk-top market, but it has not made them unsuccessful.
Don't forget the 99 target is to be in 5% of all the boxes, 30% in 2000 and 60% in 2001. I estimate that the computernuts, and most important kids wanting to play the latest hi-speed games, will be more than enough to take 10% of the market in the second half year of '99
