For me it's mad money. I didn't buy much, and the only reason I bought any is the outside chance that it could fly high. So I expect to hold for at least a few months to see what happens. Even if it goes to zero, I won't be out very much.

JMHO.

Man, how come you didn't put in a limit order?

It's almost suicide, in fact it is, to put in market orders for these internet stocks on their IPO day.

Anyways, I would dump MKTW the first thing Tuesday morning. I just don't possiblly see how it could make money by providing service that you can get for free from a million other places to support its current 1B+ cap. And that's reaon I shorted DBCC (since I couldn't short MKTW).

If you are in luck, maybe you'll get a little spike on Tuesday morning. I honestly believe that this would be the right thing for you to do before you really get burned.

Good luck.

Re: "Honestly, what would you folks do in this situation? Sell and take the beating on Tuesday morning, or stay in and pray for another brief run up? No one knows the future, but what would YOU do?"

Without telling you what to do I would suggest that you concentrate on what you did to get yourself in this situation that you want to get out of. First it sounds like you "got caught up" and made a hasty decisions. Now wouldn't another hasty decision seem to be the wrong thing to do?

Maybe taking a step back and looking for an opportunity that you can live with and then making the decisions to accept whatever it is you decide win lose or draw. Then burn in your mind that which disturbs you most about your trading or investing habits and learning how to adjust them to benefit you most. Not easy but it's worth the efforts.

Let us step back and evaluate this situation. Anyone who owned the original IPO shares and wanted to dump them for a quick profit has done so by now. The volume was 9 mil - over 4xs the float. Now most the people with mktw paid upwards of $100. Why would there be a sell off by these people? The long weekend and the exposure will only produce more buyers!

boy, you took a pretty big beating on MKTW! I hope that did not wipe you out.
