Mr. Forthright, I appreciate your input. I believe that when you are not provoked you can provide a balanced, albeit contrary point of view. I also tend to get caught up in the excitement as well, and I am more comfortable when someone can possibly point out a flaw in my logic.

Yes, I agree that there will be a time when - as you put it "When completing mergers/takeover deals, fundamentals rule." But right now in the Internet a company's fundamentals are taking a second place to patents, eyeball count, and market share etc. This is why their is a big gap between analysts who believe that Internet companies have outrageous valuations, and others analysts refer to them as cheap.

I also believe that if there are say four potential big players in the field, and this company has something they want, then Bid.com is in a pretty good position. They will be able to demand a premium price for this company now. I don't feel that this will be the case in about 12 months from now as I see one or two of the bigger players taking a commanding lead. Consolidation through expansion. Then their bargaining position would be somewhat diminished.

To all threadsters that responded to my postings yesterday: Thanx for the feedback. It was a spirited debate and healthy for the thread overall. We need to see more of this kind of discussion more often. It's good to have alternative viewpoints shared without the abuse or B.S.

As for you Forthright, we seemed to have agreed on certain points in the past, but my comments were not amateurish or wishful thinking. I've worked on merger/takeover deals before and I know the ins and outs. Of course my share price is speculation man! Who's to say for sure what it may be worth in this scenario in the first place. I just happen to believe that these prices are reasonable and not entirely out of line considering the kinds of valuations other I-net stocks have realized. In fact, in the eyes of many, it's dirt cheap even at $10-$15 a pop.
