Bob,

there is a prophesy of a mountain falling into the sea in the book of Revelation in the last days.

What on earth is that supposed to mean? Have you noticed any mountains tumbling into the sea lately?

Steve

Bob:

It is allegorical. As the Jesuits have already pointed out, Revelations deals with the fall of the Roman Empire. The men who wrote what is now called the new testament couldn't even begin to manage the world we live in today. Indeed, with our superscience, I daresay most of the apostles would have considered us gods -- or at least angels.

The last mountain (an asteroid about the size of Everest) to fall on earth was what almost completely wiped out the dinosaurs. Those that managed to survive became birds.
