Yes, that confirms what I had heard. No native dialup support in 3.1, which is why you needed the floppy from your ISP. My sister signed up with AOL and isn't having too much luck. Not Irish. Can that be fixed?

Thanks,
wily

Probably the reason you're not sure what I'm talking about is because the later versions of Windows have their own dialup tool called "dial-up networking". You just plug in the phone-number of your ISP, and that's it!

I'm not sure if my answer meets your question. My ISP gave me a floppy with the stuff I
needed to get on-line when I signed up. The install went easily and added Trumpet
Winsock, Eudora, and Netscape to my system. It worked OK right away. Luck of the
Irish, PW.

I later downloaded Microsoft's browser -- It worked first time too! <<

I thought I was the only one still using Win 3.1. I had the exact same experience as you did getting on line only I did it in reverse. I started with Netscape and then downloaded Explorer. My new system will come with Explorer but I think I will stick with Netscape.
