Wow...it takes a special talent to make such a calamitous mistake. Bit like the guy that wanted to abolish the patent office in 18-something, because all inventions had been made in his opinion.

For what it is worth: if anybody can explain to me what stops anyone fraulently registering an identity with Verisign especially using their Class I certificates out of context of a trusted client PC, please let me know. I actually used their digital certificate for a year out of curiosity. I let it lapse, and they sent me a reminder email, interestingly enough with out bothering to sign their own email with their own digital certificates! I wrote a rather snotty email asking why I should bother with a digital certificate if they don't, and how do I know they are not some fraudster after my money. They never bothered to answer me, so I guess they reckoned their game was up with me anyway.

But hey, Verisign has a market capitalization over a billion, who am I to argue about the king's clothes.
