Chris,

I usually trade a standard 1 k lot and MBT works great for me. Their rates are pretty competitive, especially if you do over 100 trades a month and up. I like them because their customer service is the best in the business.

Chris, if you trade larger share volume you might want to check around...there are ones that have no limit to the size of the order. If I come across one I'll find you. Can't remember who it is.

If I wanted to buy 80,000 shares of a $1/share stock, that would be $183.60"

Waterhouse would be $812.00 ($12+.01 per share)
Datek would be $159.20 (9.95 per 5000 shares)
Brown & Co would be $805 for market or $810 limit (also +.01 per share)

FWIW

>>I'm in the market for a premier trading tool (i.e, I'm beginning to see that Ameritrade is not for the serious trader) and I hear great things about MB Trader. Still, how do people justify the commissions?<<

Check the web-sites for RML Trading and CyberTrader. They both have unlimited ticket size, but they might add on ECN charges. Also, most companies have special rules regarding the trading of BB stocks. MB doesn't trade them at all.

Hi Chris,

Cyber has a maximum $3.50 charge for trades over 1000. The actual charge is something like .0035 per share, but they limit it to $3.50.

Good luck.
