El,
I bet he didn't pay interest on the $100,000 for the whole year. Bet he kept rolling the money over ever thirty days to avoid high interest rates. I haven't checked, but there was a method of doing this expounded upon some time back.

Did you get the article I sent you?

El: Pretty scary, but it looks like he made out OK! I think he'll probably be able to take a deduction on the interest too!

Elwood, I've been reading this guy's posts for some time now on the Dell thread. Don't know what to make of him. The Visa card thing if true is just symptomatic of an overheated market. I saw him also encourage others to trade. He also mentioned using margin to the hilt. Perhaps he forgot to mention what might have occurred had he been fully margined and held on thru the October tech wreck. This is gonna end badly for many during the next tech wreck, as it always seems to do...

Check this guy out!!! Borrowed $100k on his Visa card for trading purposes! Unreal!

Why is it that unreal? I borrowed the same amount on margin through my online brokerage account to buy DELL last April, and it has paid off quite well.

What's more risky is what a friend of mine is contemplating: he is thinking of taking out a home equity loan of 200K to put in the stock market.
