Lester e, Once a Habit is formed, it's hard to Undo. The Habit of AMAT Dropping from over 100 to the after-split price of the low 20s, then finishing for the year in the low to mid 30s and then racing back Up to the 100s is not a secret anymore... AMAT is not a secret anymore to clever Investors --- the stock is so Popular it even finished for the past year at 42+, more than 20% above the norm!... I agree with you in your new found strategy. Paul V, other friends and I have now the same new thinking as you do: --- Leave More for the Downside and Leave the Rest for more Upside (just in case)...
