Sometime back this was my portfolio composition:

Say total value $100:

$30 equity.
$70 LEAPS.
-$50 margin.

Net value $50. (37.5% equity, less aggressive than Arthur's).

The market fell, and this is what it became:

$17 equity.
$35 LEAPS.
-$50 margin.

Net value $2. I.e. a 96% drop.
