ImaginOn Introduces WebZingerTM School Edition at Fall Internet World 1998
Greer, SC, October 8, 1998, California Pro Sports, Inc. (NASDAQ: CALP) announced today that ImaginOn, Inc. will preview WebZingerTM School Edition, the third product in its WebZinger line of JavaTM technology-based search tools, at the Fall Internet World 1998 in New York City. The trade show, being held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center through October 9, 1998, is billed as the world's largest e-business and internet technology event.

ImaginOn is demonstrating its Java technology-based products at the show, as part of Sun's E-Commerce Pavilion, which is open today through Friday, October 9.

"We're delighted that ImaginOn is introducing its new product in Sun's E-Commerce Pavilion," said Dr. Lew Tucker, Chief Technology Officer of Sun Developer Relations at Sun Microsystems, Inc.'s Java Software. "WebZinger's Internet image processing leverages the Java platform's multimedia and cross-platform capabilities."

The WebZinger School Edition searches for and harvests images from the Internet. The presentation of results in a 'slideshow' format helps students identify those sites best related to their research topic. WebZinger also eliminates redundancy. The searches run in the background, so lessons can continue on the same computer.

Teachers will be able to maximize their productivity when preparing lesson plans and download topic- related images to illustrate their lectures. WebZinger's advanced control panels allow teachers to run more detailed searches. The product also enables teachers to filter out inappropriate topics and websites. In addition, WebZinger is always up-to-date. The product updates itself from the internet via its Updater function.

For schools, the product offers the benefits of Java's cross-platform capabilities, which will reduce costs associated with system compatibility. Education consultant Susan Yost, Managing Partner of Yost & Associates, said, "WebZinger is ideal for the 'work' of education in using the Internet. It is especially suited for young children because it is easy to use, helping them find what they most want from the Internet - images.

California Pro Sports, Inc. (CALP-NASDAQ) formerly a marketer and distributor of sporting goods related products, is a publicly traded company that has executed an agreement to merge with ImaginOn, Inc. based in San Carlos, California. ImaginOn is a developement stage company which engineers, produces and sells business and consumer software for CD Rom and network users, inclucing WebZingerTM, the web data acquisition tool.

ImaginOn's main web site,

imaginon.com

provides an overview of the company that will include, people, technology, products and news, and provides visitor hypertext links for transfer directly to it's new product sites.

Netscape has included the technology in their Communicator 4.04 version which is on shelves currently and royalties will start flowing in the next few weeks. Sun Microsystems has awarded ImaginOn it's prestigious 100% Java certification since the Web Zinger was one of the first true applications for Java since it's inception in 1994.

I started this thread to give people a forum to discuss the merger of CALP and ImaginOn.
