let's not forget that rdram is still only scheduled for 5% of the boxes this year, 30% next and 60% in 2001. while we all want things to move along faster than that, in the meantime there will certainly be room for other types of rdram. the best projection i have seen calls for rmbs in 95% in 2003-2005. so even then there will be other memories. the mere fact that other existing memories will be produced does not concern me at all in light of the announced rdram accelerated production.
i would like someone to explain the significance behind ibm's research. i just did not quite understand that one. if that was not posted here let me know and i'll try to find it again.
