That's a great story, Tom. That should be circulated nationally, somehow (I guess it is, being it's on SI <ggg>). What a great story of people pulling together. The last line ("All in all, it seems that the great ice storm of 99 knocked down some fences as well as electrical wires") is awesome (at the risk of sounding like my teenagers!). I think I can relate to your feeling of waking up to absolute silence at 4:00 am. I've waken up in the middle of the night on a cold winter night when the power's gone out and the temp (in the house) was 50 degrees and sinking about 10 degrees every 30 minutes. A mighty strong feeling; not easily forgotten. Thanks, again, for your post. ...Tim
