Should I be worried because of disaster movies? Or because you apparently don't know that meteors are totally different from asteroids or comets?

Given the condition of the former Soviet Union, the prospect of nuclear war is a very real worry, though it would take a fairly extraordinary chain of events to pull it off this year. Mountains falling into the sea are the least of my worries at the moment. Much more concerned with bubbled markets.

What is it in the human psyche that refuses to see a totally arbitrary number like "2000" approaching without forecasting the end of the world?
