you got to agree when a big dog like intc invests 500 mil in a company to retool they mean to make rmbs the standard.
i cant think of a better nod than that.

Intel is actually supporting SDRAM in the Rambus form factor (RIMM modules) as an interim step. That helps ensure that the folks supplying connectors, etc. at least start to make some money. The only reason I could imagine that Intel would not move ahead with Rambus would be technical problems (keep in mind that this is a different technology than the graphics Rambus memory), but since several vendors at least seem to be delivering samples and accelerating production, it doesn't sound like that will be a problem.
