Sure. No matter what else goes on, the basic trend of the markets is up. Sure, you can get the occasional MU or IOM, but mostly, shorting is a matter of catching a stock when it double tops, hits resistance, etc. For me, I have such psuchic enery invested when I am short. "Will they be bought out?" WIll it gap up? All that stuff. Don't get mw wrong--I've been short, and I love selling short. It is wonderful! But the eclat comes with real costs.
