Do you happen to know if it's the same for Win98?

I don't know for sure. It is hard to believe it would be any different. Win98 is Win95 with a few upgrades.

Assuming (there's that word again) it is -- What happens if you have a bootable 3 1/4" disk in the LS-120 and you boot your system?

I will try it ..sometime this week. An interesting question is what drive letter it shows up as in a boot and what drive letter it assigns to the harddrive.

If there were no FDD would the LS-120 be before or after the HD in the startup sequence?

I am not sure I understand your question. The boot search sequence is set in the bios. It can vary depending on the bios. In the ASUS P2B the only option is (LS or ZIP) followed by C (primary master). This would work like a standard setup with a floppy. If there is a bootable disk in the LS120 drive it will boot the LS120 before the harddrive.

There may be nuances. CDROMs are also bootable. They do not seem to be as consistently bootable as the floppy. Also I do not know if media plays a roll. I will boot a standard 1.44 MB floppy. I cannot boot LS120 media because I do not have any.

Hello Emory,

I've been using an LS-120 drive with Win95 OSR2 for nearly a year. It is recognized as the "A" drive, and I can boot from it with both a 3 1/2" 1.44mb or 120mb disk. I don't know if having OSR2 makes the difference, but I know I've never had any problem having the LS-120 drive recognized as "A" drive, or using it as a boot drive. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to try and answer them.
