Frank,

and the responses to poor ed's misguided view of the aged,

Poor ed has been taken to the woodshed several times over that unfortunate post, but he did apologize. I cut my IT teeth in operations on an IBM 360/30, (vanilla DOS, single partition, card reader, paper tape, 1403 printer, etc.), but I'm still a young punk on the south side of 50. LOL!

Since msft is a core holding for me, I can sit back and watch the action without having to make any tough timing decisions.

Same here. I've held most of my MSFT shares since 1987, with a cost basis of under a dollar a share. Any notion I may have to sell is tempered by the reality of having to cough up a huge amount of capital gains taxes. MSFT is the bedrock of my portfolio. I'll margin on it and play options on it but won't be selling any of the core holdings any time soon. I'll bet most longer term shareholders have the same outlook.

The DOJ, whining competitors, disgruntled contract workers, and assorted lawyers representing the aforementioned, are nothing more than fleas, ticks and lice attempting to suck the blood of one of the best, most successful companies on the planet, IMO.

Although I think the current stock price is a bit high, I believe we'll see a very good earnings number tomorrow. My guess is for .66 or .67 with an increase in deferred revenue.

Regards, JB
